A city I had wanted to visit for many years, but for some reason had never gotten round to it.
I have heard so many great things about Barcelona. I was excited to explore it with my two favourites.

We stayed in a simple but perfect two bed apartment via Airbnb situated in the El Born district. Walking distance to everywhere and home to the Picasso and textile museums, cafes, bars and boutiques. It was laid back yet buzzing, with a steady hum of laughter and conversation.
The whole trip was made that much better with the warm weather. With temperatures well into the twenties, it was like summer all over again.
Barcelona was everything I had hoped for. A vibrant city full of colour, culture, arts, music and fabulous architecture. The locals were friendly and loved to stop and chat to Evan.
Although we had been warned again and again about pickpockets, we didn't encounter any trouble and I felt safe to wonder the streets in the evening alone.
Now I have to admit that I get a little excited when it comes to holidays and am a sucker for marking out in my book, all the sights and areas we need to visit. I convinced The Janitor that we could easily fit two tours a day in, with plenty of time to spare.
Well I was right, we managed two tours on our first day.
Finishing at Casa Batllo with a crazy crawling baby on the roof terrace, shouting to the whole of Barcelona! We also had a very exhausted and delirious Janitor. Suffice to say, we decided one activity a day and gentle strolling would be the way to go!
The last two days were spent at the zoo and aquarium, wondering the streets, drinking coffee and trying out many flavours of gelato and those yummy chocolate covered waffles - so very good.
One of the things I loved about Barcelona had to be the parks, which were scattered around the city. Ideal for Evan to stretch his legs, have a swing and eat the dirt - which was his favourite of course!
The trip was just what we needed, and although we wished we could have stayed for longer, we were looking forward to seeing our bungalow again.
Evan was happy to be reunited with his toys and highchair (there didn't seem to be any in Barcelona) and he slept well, much to my relief...
I can't wait to return to Barcelona. I'm sure it won't be long.
