We decided to take a trip to Birmingham's popular arts centre, MAC.
With tennis courts, crazy golf, cycle and walking paths, lakes, play grounds, cafes and ample grassy areas, there is so much to see and do.
As we arrived, we were greeted by the sound of Brazilian drummers. Much to our delight, they were trying to gather crowds for a (free) performance of capoeira and samba (all things Brazilian) later that day.
Perfect, there was enough time for us to catch the Lovely Bugs, a dance performance on a 6m rig with music and rhyme. Sounded good to us. Much to our amazement, Evan sat wide eyed in his pushchair for the full 45 minutes, marvelling at the flying bees and spiders (dancers). Unfortunately we weren't permitted to take photos, but here's the spiders web (rig).
After a walk and picnic in the sunshine, we made our way inside to the Brazilian session where we sat front row to watch this lively community, come alive before our very eyes. As usual, Evan was making friends and squealing with delight at the drummers and dancers. He is such a sociable little guy.
MAC has got to be one of our favourite places to spend a day. I would recommend a day out here with your family, friends, children, or even for some space away from your crazy bunch.
